WebMazers Hunt by RedBox Studio
Would you deem it possible that there are some people in this world who develop a long lasting career seeking out Treasure Hunts to hop one from another? With prize monies running in to the thousands sometimes, the draw is too compelling and too exciting to forego. A professional hunter – what an incredible lifestyle choice.
So when RedBox Studio our lovely website consultants opened this opportunity to Tropical Spice Garden to do a web based hunt – it seemed a rather novel idea which really didn’t involve a lot on my side (except to provide a suitable prize – and that didn’t run into cash prize by the thousands by the way!)
Usually hunters seek out hunts that involve driving to remote areas of the country oftentimes unheard of and subjecting the team members to chronically difficult brain teasers and Mensa-type questions. So it’s not your run-on-the-mill task of asking you to count how many yellow lines there are on a zebra-crossing. No, no, it’s more like dechipering a set of codes written in hieroglyphics on a map dug 2 feet underground of a shopping complex in which you are only given bearings of the sun’s shadows cast from where you stand at 12 midday! Ok so I’m exaggerating… but it’s difficult – I had a look at some sample questions.
OK so this is how the Web-based Hunt works – a team of professional hunt creators ( in this case from the Penang Mensa Branch) literally disembowel every detail from your website and design exceedingly cryptic clues. RedBox opens the competition up to valiant hunters who dare take on the challenge. All the answers possible are all available in your website but the questions are no piece of cake.
So it was to my delight when after one month, Nic from RedBox sent me the list of winners. People actually took the time to comb through my website and crack these tasks – and more incredibly came out as winners!
So well done to the following hunters for their brainy achievements!
Champion – Chin Siow Lyn
First Runner Up – Margaret Sha
Second Runner Up - Loh Chee Kwan
Consolation Prizes – Goh Leep Sean, Tan Ai Chin, Lee Kay Watt
