Book launch – ‘Penang Under the East India Company’ by Andrew Barber

I take great pleasure in inviting you to the Penang launch of the book “Penang under the East India Company” by Andrew Barber. Mr Barber will be present and we hope you take this opportunity to come and meet him at 29 China Street. The book will be introduced by Dato’ Anwar Fazal at 6.30pm. “Penang under the East India Company” will be available for purchase on this evening.

The Penang Heritage Trust will also have several maps on display as well as their membership forms available for those who wish to become more informed about local heritage issues and all the good work being done in George Town. The PHT also gives you access to special sites not open to the general public through it’s very successful monthly site visits.

On the walls 29 will also be showing new works by amongst others, Suganti, Richard Duckett and Alexis Kerr.

On the same evening at Alpha Art Gallery, just up the road from us, is the preview launching of the reproductions of the historical 1821 Aquatints of Penang by William Danielle – The views of Prince of Wales Island. Please pop in there at 5 for this and then come to us at 6″ish for the book launch. These 2 events make for a perfect heritage evening!
